Devil Water

Devil Water is set in that violent period in English history when the Jacobites attempted to restore the Stuart dynasty to the throne. It is based on the true stories of James Radcliffe and his hot-blooded brother Charles, who were doubly bound to the ill-fated Jacobite cause by their Roman Catholic faith and their Stuart blood--and who both died for their cause. It is also the story of Jenny--Charles' beautiful daughter by a secret marriage--of her pursuit by the lustful Duke of Wharton, tier escape to Virginia and her final discovery of love and protection in an explosive, unstable world.
