Devastating

As Alice and Mrs. Quinn sat in the examin-ing room, nerves hit Alice like a bullet. On Friday, Dr. Curry had called the house, saying that it was imper-ative for Alice and Mrs. Quinn to come in today. Even though it was impor-tant for she and her mother to come in, Alice could-n't help but wonder why. Why was it so impor-tant for them to come in on such short notice? Had Dr. Curry found some-thing that looked odd? If so, what had she found? Before Alice could ask herself any more quest-ions, Dr. Curry made her way inside of the waiting room. After greeting Mrs. Quinn and Alice, Dr. Curry asked, "Before we begin, would you like the good news or the bad news first?"
