Stella Ridgeway had no intention of getting mixed up with show people, except in a professional sense. She jumped at the chance to design the lighting for Broadway biggie Sam Forster's new play but would have been happy to dispense with the great man himself.

But how could she resist a man who, despite his wunderkind reputation, had to down a bottle of antacid before he faced his cast and crew? A man who had no overblown ego at all? The truth was that she couldn't.

Without knowing quite how it happened, Stella found herself perfectly happy to leave the bright lights behind for a very private performance.
