Social worker Jana Davis is thrilled when she learns her time moonlighting as an events planner is finally paying off. She's landed a huge deal to throw a party that will earn her some much-needed extra cash -- and allow her to talk to San Diego's mayor about a proposed deal to tear down playgrounds and clubhouses for underprivileged kids and turn the space into over-priced condos and boutiques.

It seems like a win-win situation -- until she meets the designer for the project in question, handsome Reese McDonald. Jana is outraged when Reese immediately questions her motives, and she tries hard to ignore her attraction.
