Deception

In book one of the trilogy, A Dance with Temptation, the reader is introduced to Detective Robert Webb who finds himself investigating a series of gruesome murders, which are seemingly, without motive or definite clues. Originally, Robert believed the most gruesome crime he had ever observed was committed against a family. A father, Louis Cantry brutally annihilated his family in a jealous rage. Later, Robert finds himself tracking down an apparition known as Temptation who claims to be affiliated with the devil for the past 152 years when she was known as Rebecca Simms. Rebecca had made a pact with the devil after being betrayed by her fiance. Robert, a disbeliever in the supernatural, eventually is murdered by Temptation while investigating some bizarre and inexplicable murders in Lafrance, South Carolina.
