Death of a Lonely Warrior

The murder displayed all the signs of a professional hit. Someone had entered the offices of Southern and Jansen and had shot Gerald Southern once through the heart, then vanished, leaving no clues and no witnesses. Detective Inspector Bill Smellie found it difficult to get a hold on Southern, a man whose glory days were his time in the army. Without a motive, Smellie was struggling.
