For the past two hundred years, the citizens of Viron have lived peaceful lives. Their government is stable, their environment is controlled. Technology has made their lives incredibly easy. Safeguards keep them safe from harm and the outside world. Their ancestors conquered mental illness and the criminal mind. Or so they thoughtA rash of murders has shredded their peaceful lives and thrown the very fabric of their society into question. Gruesome, public and extreme, these murders shouldnt, couldnt be happening. Gunther Siggurdson leads a team investigating the murders that is, the parts of them he is allowed to investigate. Nothing is as it seemed. Their core beliefs are based on propaganda and falsehoods. Their society is based on rigid class structure and those at the top control everything. Their methods of ensuring peace are suspect. It is up to one man to rescue their dream, even if he has to destroy their world to do it.
