About This Book

While cookery expert Darina Lisle and her husband, Detective Inspector William Pigram, are honeymooning in the South of France they are invited to lunch by Darina's old friend and fellow cookery writer Helen Mansard, who now lives in the area with her lover, Bernard Barrington Smythe. Darina is particularly intrigued by Bernard's new venture: after a career at Lloyd's he has become an olive oil producer and he takes the newlyweds on a fascinating tour of his oil mill. The only flaw in the afternoon is the unpleasant behaviour of their cantankerous French neighbour, a rival oil producer who resents their presence.

While Darina and William continue their honeymoon on the Cote d'Azur death arrives at the oil mill and Darina puts her detective skills into practice - this time in a team with her husband. Motives and suspects abound, and it soon becomes apparent that a determined killer is about to strike again...
