Deadly Payback

Even the paths to happy endings have bumps in the road. That's what James and Mandy Hardy find out the hard way when an idyllic summer day turns into tragedy and Mandy is left shocked and horrified by the death of someone close to her. As Mandy struggles with her grief, James is left to pick up the pieces and question the reason for the attack. As he works overtime to make Mandy feel better – and safe – the elaborate pieces of a long-simmering feud slip into place and an enemy no one saw coming grabs Mandy in broad daylight. Instead of racing to her rescue, James falls apart as he struggles to find out who took his wife and where she's being held. For her part, Mandy wakes up in a nightmare and when she realizes who is in control of her destiny – and why – her emotional struggles multiply. James' family rallies around him as they work to uncover the clues. It's all hands on deck for a daring rescue attempt – but that's only part of the story. When all is revealed, a revenge plot that was literally years in the making will be revealed … and someone the Hardys have known for a long time will be unveiled as the one enemy they might not be able to overcome.
