When three gunmen in Kansas take a few shots at Clint Adams, he just figures it goes with the territory. After all, the Gunsmith's reputation follows him everywhere. But when Clint gets word that some of his friends—mighty respectable gunmen themselves—also have been attacked in shootouts, he knows something's up.

Following the trail of murders, Clint winds up in San Francisco, the scene of the last deadly crime. It seems a gang of ruthless shootists are out for blood— the blood of the best in the West.
