About This Book

New Kassel, Missouri, genealogist Torie O'Shea finds herself drawn into a heated mayoral election when a local newspaperman asks her to research the family trees of both candidates. It's a strange request, especially since the incumbent, Bill Castlereagh, is running against the local sheriff, who happens to be Torie's stepfather.

Torie does find something odd in Castlereagh's family tree, but not before the mayor and his wife disappear.

Events turn tragic during the town's Oktoberfest parade when a dead man falls off a float. Stranger still, a suspected Mafia hit man checks in at the local B and B, and motorcycle riders shoot at hayride passengers. Mayhem and mystery...and the Mob--a very dangerous combination for Torie, whose talent is digging up people's lives and their secrets.
