Dead Calm

Sergeant Kyle Lance is a career soldier. A member of Five Unit, a section of 13 Company, he revels in going in under fire, killing the bad guys, saving the hostages. He's a true player in the game of special forces and espionage. When Five Unit is called to Serbia, it starts as just another kill mission. Until Kyle meets Liv. Liv Jacobs is an envoy with the UN, charged with headquartering Five Unit during their mission. She also has a nose for trouble, and she's tempted to give 13 Company the suspicions she has about an alliance between some UN peacekeepers and a local human and drug trafficker. Then Liv becomes a hostage herself when a welfare mission is taken prisoner by the same trafficker she is suspicious of. Five Unit goes it, but Liv loses the one person she's close to. She's no soldier, but Liv wants revenge. She'll do anything to get it. And Kyle, recognizing a player-in-training, is happy to oblige. But it's anyone's guess as to who will survive this game of revenge.
