Nan Nepsdóttir is a Norse goddess who has mourned the death of her husband Baldr for the past thousand years. When she learns that what she's believed for centuries is a lie, anger carries her down to Earth, and she is determined to get her husband back.

Cadric Odinson has pushed his former life as Baldr away so he can focus on his work with the Order of Odin. What started out as a way to forget the wife and family he'd left behind, has become his life's work, and someone is trying to rip it all away from him. The last thing he needs is the complications of a wife, no matter that his desire for her burns as hot as it did a thousand years ago.
