Dark Days In Dixie

For only the fifth time in Alabama history, a Republican is in the governor's mansion and the good ol' boys want it back. They've picked Lawrence Rifle to carry the banner, but he has a problem—money is getting tight and the Primary race is close. Rifle has quietly opened the political pork barrel to anyone willing to raise the needed cash, and Judge Raleigh A. Pendleton, the mangiest hog in South Alabama politics, has lined up at the trough. The expansion of his business into Mobile seemed a logical step for Texas businessman Jack Mitchell. But he would painfully learn how difficult it is for a "foreigner" to be successful in the Heart of Dixie. Fraud and embezzlement by his Alabama partner will pale by comparison when Jack discovers a twisted conspiracy where arson, kidnapping, and even murder are acceptable tactics to achieve the greater power Raleigh Pendleton desires.
