Alex Drummond seemed to have it all -- wealth, good looks and the ability to charm the skin off a snake. He was also the guardian of two nieces and a nephew, whose pain over the loss of their parents was tearing them apart.

Then Hannah Baker entered Alex's life. As his solicitor she was there to handle his legal affairs, but she had no right to interfere in his personal affairs. She had no right to accuse him of not being able to take care of his young charges properly.

So how else could Hannah have expected Alex to react when she told him she loved him? After all, there was a big difference between love and lovemaking...wasn't there?
