Dancing in Donaghadee

DOES LOVE EVER DIE? DO SPOUSES? IS THERE IRISH WHISKEY ON THE OTHER SIDE? A funny guy with strange thoughts, John Maguire wants to change the sad, guilt-ridden world that has become his life since the passing of his wife, Nicole. Inspired by the positive attitude of his friend, Byron Coheeny, Maguire decides to go looking for the “Joy” starting with a trip to Ireland where he discovers his past, present and a glimpse of his future. But not before he has some strange encounters of the weird kind. Through scenes alternately spooky, funny and heartwarming, John arrives in the wee harbor town of Donaghadee where he partakes in a night of dancing in the pub and discovers the Joy for himself. In a final gathering on the shores of Lough Neagh, John faces down the demons of his past and present with great stupidity and heartfelt courage, and is ultimately saved by the strength of the women around him. Dancing in Donaghadee high steps its way through love, laughter, life and the Emerald Isle, inevitably drawing the reader, like it’s hero John Maguire, to the “Joy.”
