Craig’s Mountain serves as a sentinel over the small village nestled at its base. The family and village have survived numerous invasions by ill-natured weather, do-gooders and politicians with a strong-willed independent spirit.
The village, established after Revolutionary War William Craig on land provided a land grant for his service in the French Indian wars and surveyed by George Washington is inhabited by friends and relatives thus discovers itself in the middle of the scrimmage.
The latest invasion is not by an army but a conglomerate headed by a ruthless businessman, Calvin Claymore Morgan and his mercenaries who are hell-bent destroy both the mountain and the family in their pursuit of a priceless non-replenishable treasure â€" Coal!
Ruthless in his pursuit, Morgan turns to Shank Purlow and his fellow professional assassins using their nefarious skills to persuade Houston Craig and his family to sign the lease.
