The West Indies in the 1680's - where lawless rogues rubbed shoulders with peaceful settlers and Spain fought for supremacy. To these barbaric islands, as a bride of sixteen, came Roxanna Raynal. Beautiful and high-spirited, she had been forced into an unconsummated marriage with a man she hated. On their way to his plantation in Jamaica, the ship was seized by buccaneers and Raynal killed by their leader, Dirk Courtney.
