Her parents, both music majors, plan for their only child to become a concert pianist. Now Joanna feels God calling her to work with special needs children. Suddenly, her life is changed when her mother is seriously burned in a house fire. Guilt overtakes Joanna when she thinks an enemy started the fire to harm her. Joanna's childhood friend and neighbor, Jesse, becomes her strongest support. Torn between informing her parents of her desire to give up her studies at Juilliard, or continuing on her present course to please them, she takes a long deserved vacation. She loves the Gulf Coast and her Aunt Sarah's beach house, but a trip to Gulf Shores ends in terror and tests Joanna's faith. Now Joanna must struggle with the threatening problems of keeping herself and an innocent child safe from a deranged man. How can she live with the thought that she may have killed someone? Will she find her way home, and will she realize the man who has always been her hero wants to be much more?
