Lauren Phelps is a New York City homicide detective, and the job means everything to her. As Lauren and her partner, Jack Murphy, investigate two separate murders in the city, they make a connection to a third case, where the victim turns up in the suburban town of Ridgeburgh. A serial killer, with a fixation on the 50s rock and roll era, has started his rampage. What begins as a conflict between a city ‘Murder Cop’ and a suburban ‘Murder Cop,’ soon turns into an unstoppable force. Lauren and Eddie Tennellie are one in the same, with only jurisdiction differentiating the two, but instant sexual attraction pulls them together. In a combined effort, they try to track down the serial killer. Lauren wants to capture him badly. After a close encounter, she piques the killer’s interest.
