Immortality, a blessing or a curse?
Of course, we all want to live forever. How high of a price are we willing to pay?
For Parik, the son of an ancient goddess, the price is very high, indeed. His mother, in a fit of anger, cursed him with immortality. The price he is forced to pay? Each time he is reborn, he must undergo an excruciating death.
If that weren't bad enough, everyone around him must also die, so that Parik might be gifted life once again.
This is the story of one of Parik's rebirths, and the tale of the people he has come to care about. They see him as a god, come to save their city. Only Parik knows the truth.
