Constable Along the River-Bank

As Constable Nick contemplates leaving the village in a bid for promotion, his wife begins her new job and doesn't want to leave their moorland home. Nick's constabulary duties continue, despite his personal dilemma - there is drama when children go missing and there is more alarm when a man disappears in the river. Cars also get stuck in the river and when Zachariah Isaac Pentecost (Zip for short) is taken ill, Nick discovers he has a long-lost son - but where is he? With Claude Jeremiah Greengrass causing his usual problems, it's all part of the daily routine for Constable Nick of Aidensfield.
