When the senior management of a US mineral sands mining company conspire to reduce the profitability of a US mineral sand mining company they each stand to gain a $10 million windfall. But their plans to acquire the company cheaply via a management buyout threaten to unravel when the owners grant an Australian mining company an option to purchase the US operation. The conspirators have no choice. They must convince the Australians that the operation is not worth the option price. However, when the initial due diligence team sent by the Australian company was successfully duped their Managing Director was not satisfied. With two weeks before the option runs out he sends in his A Team, a business analyst, Adam Cartwright, and a mining engineer Jock Buchanan. The conspirators panic when it appears that Cartwright and Buchanan are on the verge of discovering the conspiracy and things spiral out of control.
