Karen Kelly, a young art student with wild paranormal powers has an encounter with Mike Bowman, a young psychologist. She agrees to assist Mike and his mentor, Alan Case in their research. This activity attracts unwelcome attention from a jealous boyfriend, a professional skeptic, and an unbalanced intelligent agent. And others. Everyone has an agenda. Things spiral out of control with an attempted kidnapping, some of the players working at cross-purposes, an actual kidnapping in which Karen effects her own rescue. The bad guys are brought to justice by unconventional means, save for the agent, who may be crazy but not stupid. Karen also manages to save her father's business and reinstate the reputations of the two researchers.
