Cletus

Set just as the Civil War is bringing its tide of violence and hatred into the Great Plains, Cletus, the slave of a Choctaw Indian plantation owner in Indian Territory (Southern Oklahoma), decides to escape to Kansas, after being brutally beaten and framed by his sadistic foreman. This starts a remarkable journey of discovery and adventure. Cletus lives exciting and gripping encounters with real historical figures and events, all the way finding love with another runaway slave, Sarah, as well as revenge, redemption and freedom, as the violent and degrading system of slavery terrorizes them both from start to finish.
