Claws of the Thunderbird was written and illustrated by Holland C. Holling, who spent time living with native American Indian tribes. His stories are recommended for their authentic representation of Indian culture, as well as their beautiful illustrations.

This book was written for ages 12 and up, but adults have also enjoyed Holling's Indians stories for nearly 100 years.
