About This Book

Claws of the Thunderbird is a fast-moving and exciting adventure about three young Indians lost in the wilderness. Not only must they survive on their own, but the three friends must dodge renegade Sioux warriors who want their scalps. Eventually their journey becomes a race against time, because the future of the entire Chippewa Nation is in danger!

Claws of the Thunderbird was written and illustrated by Holland C. Holling, who spent time living with native American Indian tribes. His stories are recommended for their authentic representation of Indian culture, as well as their beautiful illustrations.

This book was written for ages 12 and up, but adults have also enjoyed Holling's Indians stories for nearly 100 years.
