Something sinister threatened the Coleman Circus and there was nothing Barrie Masters could do to help save it -- or was there?

Nurse Barrie Masters signed up with the big Coleman Indoor Circus in her home town of Petrol, Oklahoma, because she wanted to see something of the world beyond Petrol before she married Richard Malloy, up and coming young oil executive and civic leader. And what better way for a girl to see the world -- at least a big part of it -- than to join the circus for five months? The tour would end in Portland, Oregon, after playing the principal cities of New Mexico, Arizona and California.
