As the raiding party quickly deployed to cover, DeLuca crouched low beside the Humvee. It was the wanted poster DeLuca had seen earlier that morning. DeLuca knew full well what the attack had meant. Most Iraqi snipers were incompetent, poor marksmen who rarely allowed for windage or calculated for elevation, and few ever used sniper rounds. Judging from the severity of the damage done, this was clearly a large caliber soft-pointed shell fired from a high velocity rifle. Someone had wanted to claim the reward.
