Mourning the end of a relationship, Letty Campbell, chicken farmer par excellence, turns her hand to a spot of property dealing. Aided and abetted by her glamorous sidekick Julia, Letty sells the land she inherited from her neighbour to CFC Inspirational Health and Beauty, a Texan outfit who plan to set up a health farm.
Letty's mother has been busy too, announcing her engagement to the fabulously wealthy Colonel Thompson. But when her mother starts receiving mysterious phone calls, Letty wonders what skeletons are rattling in the Thompson family closet.
Meanwhile, back at the health farm, Letty finds plenty to distract her. But is the sleepy Yorkshire village of Calderton ready for colonic irrigation and 'stunt' aerobics? And what is the connection between a freak accident, an escaped prisoner, and a load of filthy lucre...
