Cheyenne Summer

War, drought, and a wildfire threatens the Cheyenne.
Summer, 1800.

There is no rain. Heat bakes the prairie. What little game remains is hunted by the Cheyenne and their enemies, the Pawnee. During a buffalo hunt that becomes a battle with Pawnee warriors, Grey Bear discovers that his joy in killing outweighs his need to provide for his hungry people while Lone Hawk understands that the Pawnee too are starving. At the same time Seeks Fire realizes that the brave she idolizes isn't the gentle soul she needs. Her friend, Touches the Wind, draws on newfound courage during an inferno that scorches the plains.

The tension between Grey Bear and Lone Hawk threatens to destroy the tribe. Can the love between a brave and a maiden  save everyone?
