Growing up, finding ourselves, and deciding what we truly want out of life is challenging. We've all questioned our lives, and wondered if it's enough. In this story, set in Trenton, Illinois, Sloane Carrington is young, educated, and full of passion. She is torn between having reckless fun and being an adult. She must learn to navigate her relationships and align them with her future goals. Author Lori Bell tells an intriguing tale of a young woman trying to figure out what she wants out of life. How does she get what she wants without hurting herself, or others? How does she make a seemingly impossible-to-please mother stand on her side? In the end, the main character in this novel teaches us that our true path to happiness and fulfillment is not always a straight line. It's a tangled web of relationships, challenges, and mistakes. We must take risks, or our fears will hold us captive.
