Caveat Emptor

Alexandria Page woke from a six-day coma in which her brain had been hijacked. While in stasis, her mind was sent off-world. Meanwhile, her Earth-bound body was physically altered to suit the needs of a group of aliens known as the Consortium. Now she and the others, known as Envoys, have five years to convince the human race to follow old laws enforced in new ways. This process is known as the Implementation Phase, and her people find it intolerable. But the enforcers are not human, nor are they swayed by human excuses. And the enforcers are not on Earth itself; the implementation systems operate automatically. Thus, Alexandria finds herself in an epic struggle to save her race from a self-destructive penchant to resist outside authority and change. Will she be able to do it, or will her fellow humans prove to be too stubborn to survive?
