Call in the Night

THE TELEPHONE CALL

Late in the night came the frantic call from my sister Gina, in London.

"Claire, Claire, please come. Oh, Claire, I'm in such dreadful, terrible trouble. I don't know what to do—Claire, you just have to come, please, please…" Suddenly we were disconnected. And when I tried to call back there was no answer. I even called Scotland Yard. But she had disappeared completely. It was all very strange and I was frightened.

So I flew to London where I met Gina's latest boyfriend, Gareth Cooper. He was incredibly attractive. I found myself drawn to him even thought I suspected he had done something terrible to Gina. Where could she be? Was she still alive? And why was Gareth so secretive?

Then Gareth's former fiancée was found murdered at his cottage. I was certain now that I had fallen in love with a killer.
