When a family comes back after a long time away from the swamps, Maudie is a little standoffish. She remembers well why they had to leave and she's surprised they came back but she leaves them alone at first. She does watch them for bringing any troubles back with them, but for the most part everything is alright, until it isn't. Overnight, a tenseness seeped into the swamp that threatens to blow everything up. Then someone else shows up... Now, the swamp isn't a safe place anymore and everyone goes on alert…
