The end of August finds the Howard sisters busy trying new things. Louise's gifted hands check tire gauges, dipsticks and battery cables in addition to coaxing beautiful music from the piano and organ. Alice -- more accustomed to bandages, thermometers and pills -- employs hammers, saws and nails in trying to keep up with Aunt Ethel on a new project. And Jane has been commissioned to cater a very special dinner, but the finicky hostess makes planning a menu a challenge. They each expand their skills, but learning to minister to a special group of guests may be the trickiest task of all.
