A freshman in college, Britt Carmichael wondered if she would ever find another human being sexual stimulating. She had tried boys her age, men, and even girls, but their kisses all left her cold. Until a kiss from Major Wesley Blair spun her world on its axis.

Being a Marine brat, Britt understood Wes better than he understood himself. Wes saw himself as her protector, not a potential lover. So she leaves California to pursue her education in Atlanta. She would return older and wiser, and hopefully more experienced. Then she would see if Wes was able to walk away.
