Mariah Redding believes she's starting her life fresh by accepting a proposal to be a mail-order bride in Creede, Colorado. Things back home in Kentucky didn't end on a happy note, and she's looking forward to the chance to find the happiness she's been denied. It turns out, however, that fate has decided to play a different card.
