Breaking Bruno

By the age of sixteen, Bruno Berger, sexually, physically and psychologically abused during his formative years is a murderer, a kidnapper and an armed robber, the result of his anger and hatred of himself for his helplessness and the apathy of his fellow beings. He has also been an accomplice to a murder, lived with street children, become addicted to glue-sniffing, had sex with an under-age girl and laboured as a slave in an abandoned gold mine. Incarcerated in a padded cell and treated with psychotropic drugs to curb his anger and hatred for the human race Bruno is ready to give up. But he hasn't reckoned with Lucy Brentwood, the young sexually abused girl that he kidnapped and has vowed to kill. Her love for Bruno blossoms as she struggles to break down the defensive walls that he has built around himself. Using her own debilitating experiences as a child and her determination to overcome them, she reaches out to him. An intriguing contest between love and indifference.
