Brian Hanson works as a therapist, counseling some very troubled people. When Tammy, a former addict, comes to him with a wild story of conspiracy and corruption, he sees her as a textbook case of paranoia. Then she turns up dead. What if Tammy wasn't crazy? Hanson needs to prove to himself that there is nothing he could have done to save Tammy, and the only way to do that is to look into her death himself. His investigation leads him into the seedy underside of the city, and puts him on the trail of a killer on a mission--a killer who's all too happy to add Hanson to his list of victims.
