Blueberry Jam

Izzy complains to her mother how store-bought jam doesn t taste as good as her grandmother's. Izzy's mother, Evi, tells her about her childhood memory when she and her two brothers picked blueberries for their Oma at their cottage in the Laurentian mountains in Quebec. Evi wondered why they had to pick so many. Oma was going to cook blueberry jam. The tedious process began. Evi was inquisitive from the start to the finish of this enormous job. The best part of making blueberry jam was tasting the leftover jelly that was in the bowl.

The tradition lives on when it's Izzy's turn to help her grandmother transform the berries she picked into jam. Izzy watches the process with wonder. The final moment arrives. She is ready for the taste test. When the jam slithers down her throat, Izzy emphatically announces that NOBODY BUT NOBODY MAKES BLUEBERRY JAM LIKE HER GRANDMA.
