Blink of an Eye

One wrong blink sparked a global outbreak of plague that mutated humans into brutal, conscienceless killers called Revenants. Dubbed the Father of the Apocalypse, Ren Leonard is a legend, a myth, the bringer of destruction upon humanity's head.

A gatherer for the Stronghold, a small pocket of uninfected holed up in an old sports arena, Mackenzie Bright Runner is aware that supplies are dwindling. Travel is risky and fuel rare, forcing the Stronghold to rely on what can be scavenged during the light of day in their immediate area.

Bargaining with Revenants is forbidden. Bargaining with the Father of the Apocalypse is a treasonous offense. But Mackenzie believes he's their only hope for survival. Dragging along her partner Bon for safety, she appeals to Leonard for help in turning the tide against the Revenants, only to be refused with a cryptic remark: Existence is futile.

Branded traitors to their settlement, Bon is executed and Mackenzie is exiled. Separated from her lover, forced to rely on a man she doesn't quite trust, and armed only with a symbol to follow across a landscape barren of people and full of monsters, Mackenzie is about to learn what Ren could have told her: everything can change in the blink of an eye, and Revenants aren't the worst danger breathing down her neck.
