Blackmail Under a Dark Star

Frank Sladek doesn’t have a problem with women. It’s women who have a problem with him. Somehow, every woman he becomes involved with ends up taking the next starliner from Star City, either that or they end up dead. The most notorious private investigator on Star City, a hollowed out asteroid orbiting a brown dwarf in the middle of nowhere, Sladek must be quick with a laser and quicker with his wits to survive, but neither of those talents helps him out with the opposite sex. Still, when faced with a problem, whether it’s blackmail or murder, Sladek is the one they come to.
