About This Book

Returning to his hometown to the ranch of his estranged father and brothers, Bobby is determined to forget the past. But his step-mother, a narcissist extraordinaire, has not given up on her machinations. She is a western matriarch who bestrides the whole family like a poisonous spider. Mina, Bobby's insecure and pregnant girlfriend, is easily caught inside the web and is soon undermined by self-doubt. The love between Mina and Bobby is strong, but she acts impulsively. Ethan, who is the heir after Bobby was driven out, sides with his mother and seems unaware that she is controlling the family. His treatment of Bobby –and all women he considers immoral-- is shabby. Charlie, the youngest brother, is solitary and has Asperger's Spectrum. When the brothers and their girlfriends meet up at the ranch, there is a chance of reconciliation. But tensions threaten to boil over.  Can all the characters listen to their hearts and talk to each other that they might avoid disaster? Or will they fail to do so for the most understandable and human of reasons?
