About This Book

BLACK & BLUE is a novel about trust and betrayal set in Los Angeles. Shortly after her father's death, Simone's need for love and security turns to strong chemical attraction for 3 men who each teach her a different lesson about life.

Just as she's recovering from an abusive relationship with a bartender named Steve, she meets a mysterious man named Skate. After a shaky beginning, she discovers Skate's true identity. She wants commitment, he wants a stable career before settling down. Their relationship appears strong until signals get crossed and they break up. She then meets Derek, a mechanic. Deceived by his charming exterior, she doesn’t realize that she’s once again playing with fire. Simone is unknowingly stalked by one of these men; an evil predator more malicious than she ever dreamed of . . . in her worst nightmare.

A notice from the IRS prompts a visit to a probate attorney who informs her of an inheritance settlement. She plans to open a hair salon. Almost on the road to independence, her car breaks down; what happens next changes Simone's life completely. Caught in a tangled web of deceit, she discovers her father's death may not have been an accident. Everyone in her life is connected to each other in some way, each masking the motives of their actions; no one is what they appear to be. During a harrowing courtroom drama, everyone’s true colors are revealed.

Beaten down by tragedy and sorrow, yet wearing a cheerful mask to cover the pain, Simone rises to the challenge of her dream come true. By following her intuition and acting with integrity, she finds the inner strength to overcome obstacles, and at long last, finds true love.
