Take one winsome widow, a cute kindergartener, a zany senior citizen, and an exotic, six-foot-tall bird. What do you get? A peck of trouble -- as far as Grant Ferguson is concerned. It's bad enough that his eccentric mother, Ivy, has taken in Lisa Bennet, her young son, and their ungainly pet. Now the two women have hatched a scheme to start an ostrich ranch.
