Betrayed

Bomb attacks target Muslim entities in the United States. At the scene of one such incident, Pam becomes involved in a shooting scenario. As a result, some Washington officials begin to call her competence into question. They pressure ATF Director Rick Conroe to remove her from field investigations. Her expertise in evaluating such events remains beyond dispute, but media responses to recent law enforcement shootings place her in an untenable position with the Director of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney General. Reconciliation appears a remote possibility after Conroe bows to the demands. Feeling betrayed, she selects the only option she sees open to her.
