Best Interests of the Child

It's 2016 when San Antonio criminal defense attorney Jim Andrews agrees to defend twenty-one-year-old army specialist, Cory Keller. The defendant, who suffers from PTSD related to an IED event and subsequent traumatic brain injury, is accused of raping sixteen-year-old Bethany, the daughter of his thirty-one-year-old, soon-to-be ex-wife, Lori Babson.

While Keller maintains his innocence, Andrews plots his defense strategy. When a key witness goes missing and the court martial results in a turn of events, Andrews must create a plan to defend his client against a new set of charges. Keller, however, is nowhere to be found, and Andrews is battling marriage and child issues of his own. As a courtroom drama ensues, both Babson and Keller meet unanticipated fates.
