About This Book

Besieged by a bureaucratic system and harried by administrators, Jack Biernan and his family at first cope but then go on the offensive. With the assistance of a few close friends, Jack, his wife Gwen and son Sean challenge the Catch-22 world of American business, hospital care, and education. Of course, the fates of three insignificant figures who challenge an entrenched system seem to be sealed. Desperately needing to maintain his health insurance for himself and his wife Gwen, Jack begins his own war of covert operations. Faced with a medical system far more concerned with the bottom line than with patient care, Gwen initiates her own protest. Their son Sean launches a political career with the aim of changing the system. Still, the odds of their success do not favor them, so they may need help from other sources.
