A Confusing Courtship

Raised in seclusion in the country, Miss Annabelle Weatherstone is making her first foray into the gaiety of the London Season -- taking the place of her twin sister, Cassandra, who had lived with their aunt and uncle in Bath. Young, free, and beautiful, Belle has no immediate interest in snaring husband -- only in having fun. But she soon meets a gentleman who stands out among her crowd of admirers...

Lord Adam Ashdon, on leave from the army, plans a brief stay in London before going to Bath -- to pursue a lovely young woman he met there while recuperating from a wound. But to his surprise, he runs into that very same girl in the thick of the Season. Ashdon immediately focuses his attentions on the "Belle of London," as she is known, but her manner, though pleasing, is somewhat strange. Is it hauteur or a scheming nature that prevents Belle from acknowledging their time together in Bath? And with war looming in his future, is it worth Ashdon's time to continue courting a young lady who may not be what she seems?
