Clint is asked to officiate a beauty contest in the town of Redwind, Texas. The winner gains the title of Miss Dance Hall and will go on to compete in a larger contest in Fort Worth. Feeling that he had taken on many tasks in his past that led to trouble, Clint thinks this is something that will be fun and cause no fuss. But once he takes the job on, he discovers the lengths some people will go to, not to simply win a contest, but to take advantage of the attention it attracts.
